Annual Parish Meeting & Minutes
The Purpose of Parish Meetings
The Annual Parish Meeting takes place once a year on a date between the first of March until the first of June. Representatives from a variety of community groups report verbally on the annual activities of their organisation.
A parish meeting enables anyone who lives in the area to meet & discuss any issues that might have arisen. It gives parish councillors a chance to determine what the key issues are. In this way they can be prioritised & investigated to find effective solutions.
In addition to the accounts being available to inspect, the council can listen to new suggestions for improvements to the area. It is a great opportunity to work together to improve the area in which many of us live & work.
An official summary of the meeting known as minutes provides a useful written outline of what happened & any decisions taken.
