We are looking for people who are interested in joining a walking football group in the parish. It is open to any adult. Matches can be mixed sex but we are hoping to get enough interest that we can have both men and ladies teams.

Walking Football is a unique small-sided ball game made up of teams of 5 or 6 players. It’s similar in some respects to Association Football and this is what makes it such a great sport. If you played football in your youth, memories will come back because the game is familiar. It’s the game you love and remember but played. a new way.

Walking football offers a multitude of health benefits to older people such as reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke while improving blood pressure. Other benefits include positive changes in postural balance, resting heart rate, lowered cholesterol, improved blood sugar levels, bone density, and improving reactions, whilst slashing the odds of suffering from type 2 diabetes – all indicators of general good health.
