Poppy Waterfall

The local craft group have created a beautiful ‘poppy waterfall’ feature that currently can be seen on the front of St James The Less Church. Visible from the road or pavement the cascade of crocheted poppies is quite eye catching.

A team of parishioners then helped out by getting the waterfall suspended in place from the church tower. All in remembrance of the fallen who will be commemorated on Remembrance Day.

Armistice Day officially is the 11th November when at 11am a two minute silence is held to mark the end of the First World War in 1918. However church services are often held on what is know as Remembrance Sunday.  Wreaths of poppies are laid near the memorial plaques bearing the names of local people who fell during conflict
