New Commissioner Appointed
Following the recently held elections Clare Moody has been appointed the next Police Commissioner for Avon & Somerset Police. A Commissioner’s role is wide & varied but essentially is to ensure the local force runs smoothly & efficiently. The Commissioner can hold the local Chief of Police to account on a range of issues. In this way the Commissioner acts on behalf of us all in policing matters.
The Commissioner will work with a wide range of agencies which include parish councils. The aim is to ensure that the concerns that local residents have about policing are heard.
Effective crime solving through the targeted use of resources is key along with services to help offenders once they have served their sentences. The Commissioner & their office will be involved in all sort of ways to ensure that these services are delivered in cost effective & successful way.
