A Lengthy Process
IAPC have been working with South Gloucestershire Council since 2021 in response to local residents safety concerns. Various surveys & discussions have taken place according to the process that has to be followed in relation to potential changes in road use. It has to date proven to be a lengthy & challenging process that has caused frustrations for both residents & councillors combined.
At a meeting just before the recent election the council received information that consideration was being given to a trial closure however at that time no further information was available. The trial closure was likely to be in place until the work on the bridge over the M4 was completed. In the 6 week period before an election government bodies enter a period now known as ‘ pre election sensitivity’ (previously known as purdah). During this time there is a restriction on the information that can be shared in the public domain.
Currently IAPC are waiting to be able to resume their endeavours to address this again.
