Making The Most of the MUGA

IAPC are delighted that the MUGA has now been booked for all the sports now on offer. To build on this success the council has been reaching out to the community to appoint Ambassadors for each of the sports. It’s hoped that it will be possible to open up chances for residents to reconnect with a sport they once played or try something new.

Potentially there are already volunteers interested in this project but we still need to find :

  1. A second person to help with walking football
  2. A second person to help with tennis
  3. Two people to help set up netball

Contact has been made with the national sporting organisations for each of the sports & it’s hoped that it might be possible to provide qualified coaches to run some ‘come & try’ sessions which the Ambassadors can then help build community connections. The project is aimed at providing sporting opportunities for older teenage & adults (no upper age limit) of all abilities.
