Proposed Road Speed Changes
Consultation on Local Road Speed Limits

South Gloucester Council are running a public consultation from the 25 Feb 2026 to 21 Mar 2026.
The purpose is to find out what local people think about proposed speed limit changes.
South Gloucestershire Council is proposing to make changes that will affect the following roads :
a) prohibit the driving of motor vehicles at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour in lengths
- Amberley Meadow
- Breccia Close
- Broad Lane
- Engine Common Lane,
- Great Oak Way,
- Honey Suckle Close,
- Lodge Road, Molly Meadows,
- North Road,
- The Addlings
- The British,
- Watery Lane
- Willow Close
b) prohibit the driving of motor vehicles at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour in lengths of North Road, Yate;
c) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (Broad Lane, Yate) (20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2011 in favour of the provisions specified in item a) above; and
d) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (The British and North Road, Yate) (20 mph Speed Limit) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2021 in favour of the provisions specified in item a) and item b) above.
